Bulbasaur in a Master Ball. Overkill? Absolutely. Do we care? No. TOMY’s Monster Collection Master Ball is the real deal: it opens up, a lever inside arms the spring catch, and when the ball lands on your Pokmon it snaps shut like you just made the catch. A return string brings it straight back to your hand, so you can throw it across the room without going to get it.

The 2″ Bulbasaur figure fits inside the ball, which means he’s catchable, releasable, and re-catchable for as long as your arm holds out. For a lot of us this was the first partner we ever picked, and the Master Ball is the only ball good enough for him.
